Paniculata hydrangeas are characterised by their large almost cone shaped panicles of flowers. They have mostly white flowers which often fade to pink. They flower better in sun than shade but need to be kept moist. Cutting back in early spring to 4 buds on each stem will give vigorous new growth with larger flowers heads. Diamond Rouge has white flowers which flush to pink then age to raspberry-red. They are exceptionally large heads up to 35cm in length. A dramatic summer flowering shrub.
