Tatting fern Athyrium filix-femina 'Frizelliae' is a small deciduous fern that grows in a tuft formation, with narrow, erect or arching fronds that reach up to 20cm in length. The main divisions, or pinnae, are reduced to rounded lobes, which give a unique beaded appearance. Tatting fern prefers moist, well-draining soil and partial to full shade. It is a great addition to rock gardens, woodland gardens or as a container plant.
