Tates of Sussex South Downs Nurseries Plants Shop

South Downs Garden Centre

At South Downs Garden Centre in Hassocks, you enter the centre through the houseplant section where you are surrounded by lush green foliage, beautiful orchids and spiky cacti. The outdoor plant area is one of the largest in the south-east with dedicated areas for aquatic plants, bedding, perennials, climbers, fruit, roses, shrubs and trees. It also has themed benches for inspiring customers including: plants for shade, pollinators, coastal areas, clay soil, chalky soil and more.

Old Barn Garden Centre

Old Barn Garden Centre is located adjacent to our wholesale nursery and is renowned for the vast range of top quality, value for money plants available. It has a lovely courtyard feel with dedicated areas for different plant groups and the friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand to help and advise.

Tates of Sussex Paradise Park Plants Shop

Paradise Park Garden Centre

Paradise Park Garden Centre in Newhaven was launched in 1989 by the late Geoff Hamilton of BBC Gardeners World. The plant area stocks a complete range of trees, shrubs, aquatic plants and perennials concentrating on plants suitable for the coastal conditions found in the locality.

Mayberry Garden Centre

Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade is our in-town centre. The plant area features the most popular shrubs, perennials, aquatic plants and bedding plants suitable for the surrounding area with knowledgeable staff available to advise on what plants are best for your garden.

Our Nurseries
Tates of Sussex South Downs Nursery

South Downs Nurseries

Our bedding and perennial nursery located adjacent to our South Downs garden centre and grows over 1000 different varieties of plants. Many of these are bedding plants used to create the beautiful hanging baskets and planters sold through our four garden centres. We also grow a wide range of other plants including many perennials, herbs and strawberries. (Not open to the general public.)

Tates of Sussex Old Barn Nursery

Old Barn Nurseries

Our trade plant nursery is located adjacent to our Old Barn Garden Centre in Dial Post, Horsham and grows around a quarter of a million plants a year. Plants are sold through our own garden centres as well as direct to the landscape trade. The most popular plants they grow include Phormiums, Lavender, Star Jasmine and Salvias. (Not open to the general public.)
